What does Freedom of Speech really mean?
People have been throwing around the 1st Amendment and Freedom of Speech so much lately. It’s become the go to response whenever someone gets in trouble for saying something they should not have said. Take Roseann. While there has been a lot of praise for her show getting cancelled there has also been a lot of “freedom of speech!” comments out there. Like all attorneys, I took a constitutional law class in law school. Even though I got an A (I think I got an A) I am not in any way shape or form an expert on the constitution. But I know enough to know that Freedom Speech is…

Detroit the Movie
I’ve just watched a prescreening of the movie Detroit. And…I’m…I’m left with all sorts of feelings. I’ve watched these historical movies of the plight of black people before and while “those slave” movies made feel a sort of sadness it was always easy to dismiss those feelings as “that was a long time ago.” But Detroit… Detroit was 50 years ago, almost exactly to the day and I felt as if I was watching the present day news. My little getaway to the land of Twilight made me reminisce on a post I wrote some 5 years ago describing the legal process through the divorce of Edward and Bella. Check out an updated version below: I know it’s too painful to think about and it will never never ever happen but let’s just pretend it might. Edward and Bella do not live…

My Gilmore Girls Review
Now I was debating if I should write this post. But I was so disappointed I need to vent. And vent I will. Now you can see from the picture associated with this post that I was excited for the Gilmore Girls revival. Very excited. It has been all I could think about. I would get all tingly every time there was some sort of new promo. So I stocked up on Gilmore Girls food and waited until midnight. And I’m sad to report that I am now suffering from has been coined anticipointment. I was sooooo excited leading up to the revival but after seeing it I was left…

What Community Has Taught Us About Being a Lawyer
Over the past year or so I have become a fan the show Community thanks to Hulu. Not only is it entertaining but it also gives valuable insights on being a lawyer. Here are a few: Do not sue strippers. “She’s a stripper life sued her, and she lost.” Being a doctor is indeed better than being a lawyer. “Anyone can be a lawyer. You can even represent yourself. You can’t do surgery on yourself. It’s illegal. You’d get arrested, and then you’d get a free lawyer.” Sleazy lawyers make the best lawyers. “Jeff, you know what lawyers call someone who defrauds the state bar, cheats on his LSATs, and…
